Web 2.0 ROI - Is That the Right Question?
Several clients have asked recently: “What’s the ROI for upgrading our Web site to embrace Web 2.0?” When we unpack what they mean by the question, they tell us that they need a compelling business case to convince their IT organization and their business leaders to invest in a major revamp of their Web sites. People often use the “Web 2.0” rubric as a lightning rod to convince management that they’re falling behind the competition and that they need to start fresh architecturally, not just to make incremental improvements to their current Web sites. Web 2.0 technology enablers provide a convenient starting point.
